Welcome to the Bozeman Zen Group

We are a sangha of lay and ordained practitioners in Bozeman, Montana and part of Bozeman Dharma Center. We practice in the Sōtō Zen lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.

Practice with us, in-person and virtually:

Afternoon Zazen: Mondays and Fridays

Silent meditation from 5:20 – 6:00 PM at the Bozeman Dharma Center. Followed by a short chant. It is fine to be tardy due to work, family and weather.

Sunday Morning Program on Zoom

Silent meditation plus a book study, from 8:00-9:15 AM online. We are currently with Opening the Hand of Thought by Uchiyama Roshi and Friends. Join us any Sunday (except when we have a 1/2 day sit).

Sunday Evening Program, in-person

5:00-6:30 PM at the Bozeman Dharma Center. Program consists of Zazen, Service, Tea and a Dharma Talk

To study the Buddha Way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self. To forget the self is to be actualized by myriad things.
