The Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj) preserves and disseminates the culture and history of Japanese Americans, with a special focus on the Santa Clara Valley. JAMsj is currently closed to the public due to a major expansion project. While awaiting the opening of the new museum in 2008 at the same location, JAMsj continues its educational programs by conducting walking tours of Japantown, offering traveling exhibits, and hosting special events and lectures.
